We Have 6 Engines, 4 tankers, 3 Brush trks 1 ladder Trk. 3 Service Trks , 2 QRVs and 1 UTV. Cullowhee fire Dept. started around 1956 with 1 pumper at Western Carolina University housed in the steam plant.
Then in or around 1980 the department built a new building at 4277 Little Savannah road. As time moved forward call volume went from 70 calls a year to we now run 800 plus calls a year. And from 15 members to 38 today.
