Chief Ricky Baker

As the Fire Chief for the Orange Grove Volunteer Fire Company, and on behalf of the firefighters and medical responders serving you daily, I would like to welcome you to the Orange Grove Volunteer Fire Company website.

The Orange Grove Volunteer Fire Company continuously attempts to stay connected with the public.  Through our website, social media channels and personal interaction, we strive to keep you informed about what’s going on within our department, and likewise, we welcome any input from you, the citizens we serve.

I am extremely grateful, humbled and proud to lead such an amazing group of firefighters and medical responders from an organization which has just completed its first 50 years of service to the community.  From the fire apparatus of the seventies to the amazing fire apparatus vehicles you see responding through the roads of the Orange Grove Fire District today, we have come a long way, and it will continue to be our goal to progress forward into the future by incorporating new skills, techniques, and today’s technology to better serve the community.

The Orange Grove Volunteer Fire Company serves an estimated population of 8,500 residents and covers 60 square miles.  Over the past few years, we’ve responded to an average of 450 emergency calls that range from fires and medical calls to incidents involving hazardous conditions, rescues and automobile accidents.  We interact with our residents through making address signage, smoke alarm installation and issuing burning permits.   We view our residents and businesses not just as customers we serve, but as partners in keeping our community safe and healthy.

We thank you for your continued support and partnership as we grow as a fire company.  Please know that you are always welcome to reach out to us if you ever have a question or concern as your opinion matters to every one of us, and we are dedicated to serving you.

Sincerely,

Ricky J. Baker, Fire Chief
