Job Posting

Position Title: Battalion Chief

We are currently hiring for a Battalion Chief Position.

The Battalion Chief must be able to perform the duties of a Firefighter. This includes operating in IDLH atmospheres, providing basic level emergency medical care and rescue services as needed.

Base Salary (Depending on Experience and Qualifications: $53,185

Top Salary: $85,000

Minimum Qualifications:

NC Firefighter certification
NC-EMT Basic; or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
21 years of age and reside within a 25-mile radius of Fairview Fire Department’s Headquarters
Class B Classified license prior to the employment start date
IS 100.c, 200.c, 700.b, 703.a, 706 and 800.c prior to employment start date

Candidates must demonstrate through the Fairview Fire Department hiring process a level of competency to perform as a Career Firefighter.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Station and Apparatus upkeep and basic maintenance
Common and accepted functions of Fire, Rescue, and EMTs
Incident mitigation, Incident reporting, record keeping, public relations, and fire prevention
Perform additional tasks assigned through their chain of command
