Volunteer Firemen's Insurance Services
Management Solutions for Emergency Services (MSFES) has been improving the lives of fire chiefs and the operations of their departments for nearly 20 years. In early 2002, the CEO and the 1st Vice President of MSFES sat down with the President of VFIS North Carolina, Cloyce Anders, to discuss ways to change fire departments and their leaders’ lives for the better. They met and formed a company with strong local ties to North Carolina. The company brought to the table years of regional and national experience to offer expert risk reduction, human resources, and emergency management services to the leaders and organizations that protect the lives of the community. MSFES was born to protect fire departments and rescue squads.
MSFES wanted to engage fire departments and rescue squads in a different way. The normal risk reduction process has historically entailed a small, on-site audit of a fire department or rescue squad lasting less than a day. Once complete, the auditor produced a small letter or report detailing things that needed to be addressed.
The MSFES leadership team knew that many Fire/Rescue Chiefs spent so much time protecting the people and property in their communities, they often lacked the time and resources to address the areas of concern. The Chiefs and their life-saving departments needed assistance from experienced emergency services advocates to find and fix the issues so that they could continue supporting the people who save lives at the fire ground or emergency scene.
Mr. Anders of VFIS wanted to stand beside MSFES. Now that MSFES had the backing of VIFS, we built more programs to target the risk that fire departments and rescue squads carry. MSFES works with the departments and squads to identify and remove the risk through the right documentation, training, and education.
For nearly two decades, we have put our clients first. It all started with MSFES and VFIS strategizing new ways to provide administrative services to fire departments and rescue squads so that they can focus on saving lives. We are grateful that since VFIS started in 2002, it has finically supported the programs offered to our clients through MSFES. When a fire department or rescue squad protected by VFIS contracts with us, the VFIS issues MSFES a payment to cover parts of the services provided. This had helped reduce the chief's overall costs.
